Short term community Programme
✅ Completed • Apr 2023 → Apr 2024

At Starts Foundation, we believe that good education can change lives. That’s why we introduced the Short-term Community Program (STCP) with support from Himalaya Friends. This program includes a series of small projects aimed at improving different parts of the education system in the Terai community.
The main goal of STCP is to help improve the quality of education, build knowledge, and encourage leadership among students. The program mainly works in Mahottari and Dhanusa districts, where the literacy rates are still low: 59% in Mahottari and 50.4% in Dhanusa.
We focus on schools that often get left behind - the ones with very limited resources, little support, and no direct connection to other programs or organizations. Through this program, we try to reach those places and give students better opportunities to learn and grow.
Although STCP is a short-term effort, it’s part of a bigger, long-term plan. It helps us understand which schools need the most help and what kind of projects would be useful for them in the future. This way, we can continue to support and expand these programs later on, aiming to build a better and a fairer education system for these communities.

Teacher’s Training

The training was held at Shree Basic School, Malhania, mainly for teachers who hadn’t received any government training before. Before starting, our team spent 10 days observing and researching to understand the situation and needs. The actual training lasted 20 days, with 2 trainers running sessions for 6 hours each day. The training focused on improving the teachers' skills, helping them learn better teaching methods, and building their capacity to manage classrooms more effectively. The goal was to help teachers create a better learning environment for their students.
